What is this about?
The University of Sheffield is committed to supporting Research Staff by enhancing their experience of working at the University and contributing to their career development. Each of the five Faculties within the University, along with Research and Innovation Services and the University's Careers Service, have collaborated to provide Research Staff with the Think Ahead framework - a range of opportunities, information and guidance to support their personal and professional development facilitated by the Researcher Professional Development Team (RPDT). The mission of the RPDT is, “to provide a collaborative, research led, University wide framework of professional development for researchers, that is innovative, inclusive and impactful.” The team operates within a wider framework of support available to research staff, which includes support from their manager, from fellow research staff, from departmental support staff and from the professional services.
How will colleagues benefit?
Colleagues will be able to find out about the Researcher Professional Development Team and the Think Ahead framework in more detail. Whether a PGR, member of research staff or a general advocate of quality research, teaching and learning, we want to meet you. Visiting this exhibition will increase your understanding of what we do and will enable us to increase our connectivity across the university as part of a wider drive to enable individuals to contribute to the delivery of engaging teaching & learning and the production of world class research.
